Frp Door Features
- The MDI® FRP doors are 1-3/4” thick (44.4 mm), rigid polyurethane insulated door, that has been designed for facilities that encounter high traffic, high impact and corrosive environments.
- The light weight construction, 4.9 lb/sq ft, and rugged sustainability combines with a beautiful architectural finish for a product that is both practical and aesthetically pleasing.
- The door’s exterior face is covered in 0.120” thick pebble faced Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) face sheets available in thirteen (13) colors. These sheets are chemically bonded to the aluminum core liner, allowing the door to fully meet the requirements of chapter 26 of the International Building Code. The FRP face sheets are scratch, impact, shatter, tear, splinter and graffiti resistant.
- The door panel is filled with 10 lb/ft insulating, rigid urethane foam. Proprietary manufacturing methods create a super strong monolithic structure with the foam bonding to the surface sheets.
- The door incorporates 14 gauge, #4 finish type 304 (316 or 316L available) stainless steel vertical and horizontal edge caps for corrosion resistance, strength and rigidity.
When door is optionally equipped with internal ballistic armor, the armor will provide non-ricochet, bullet-resistant UL 752 Level III and NIJ Level IIIA Standards for critical facilities and personnel protection. - Door can be prepped for most standard builder’s hardware and additionally for electrical hardware to meet your increased security needs.
- Standard opening sizes up to 4’ x 8’ for a single door and 8’ x 8’ for a pair.
The door was endurance tested in accordance with ANSI A250.4-01 for 1,000,000 cycles. - All doors are backed by a limited ten (10) year warranty.
