* Please note that Metropolitans’ Doors and frames have been approved for use with the VSG line of glass products; which means our doors & frames are approved to follow the glass specifications rather than the door specifications. This means that Metropolitan can exceed the typical 100 Sq. Inches of visible glass in a B-labeled door…actually we can use up to 1511 Sq. Inches (with the FR-F glass) and even larger with other glass product models. Some restrictions do apply. See details below.
SGG PYROSWISS EXTRA
3/16″ or 1/4″ HIGH-IMPACT SAFETY RATED, CLEAR SPECIALTY TEMPERED GLASS
SGG PYROSWISS EXTRA and/or SGG PYROSWISS US, fire-rated tempered safety glass. Clear and wireless glazing material for use in impact safety rated locations such as doors, sidelites, & borrowed lites with a fire rating requirement of 20 minutes without hose stream; for use in interior or exterior applications.

a- Thickness: 3/16″ or 1/4″
b- Fire-Rating: 20 minutes
c- Weight: 2.6 – 3.2 lbs/sq. ft.
d- Approx. visible light transmission: 90%
e- Impact Safety Rating: ANSI Z97.1 & CPSC 16CFR1201 (CAT I & II)
- Labeling: Each lite of SGG PYROSWISS EXTRA and/or SGG PYROSWISS US shall be labeled with a permanent logo including name of product, manufacturer, testing laboratory (ITS / Warnock Hersey), fire rating period and safety glazing standards.
- Fire Rating: Fire rating listed and tested by ITS (Warnock Hersey) for fire rating scheduled at opening locations in drawings, when tested in accordance with (ASTM E-152) (NFPA 252) (UBC Standard 7-2) (UL 10C)
