Metropolitan Door Industries offers a full range of standard and custom hollow metal frames in various sizes and profiles.  One of our most popular frames is our Adjustable Profile.  Our Adjustable knock-down frame is available in two sizes:

SPECIFICATIONS:  

• 16 gauge A40 Galvanneal steel.  G90 galvanized is optional.                           

• Prepared for use with 1 3/4” (45 mm) thick doors. 

• Knock-down (KD) construction only.

• Hinge jambs are prepared and reinforced to receive 4 1/2” x 4 1/2” (114 mm x 114 mm) butt hinges. 

• 10 ga. high frequency dual purpose hinge reinforcement with return bend for added strength and rigidity.

• Hinge reinforcements can be easily field converted to accommodate heavy weight hinges.

• Strike jambs are prepared & reinforced (12 ga.) to receive one standard 4 7/8” (124 mm) strike in accordance to ANSI A115.1.

• 2” face (or trim) dimension is standard on all MDI® frames.

• Hinge jamb, strike jamb, and head are “punched & dimpled” through the face (on both sides) of the frame for installation.  See Illustration No. 2.

• 16 gauge closer reinforcement standard on fire labeled frames.

• Standard 1/2” return bend profile with drywall return.

• Fire rating: 3/4, 1 1/2, available.  Some restrictions do apply.

• Fire labeling: WHI and UL.

• Application: Most commonly used in commercial applications.
